OUR ELDERS

Dan

Dan is the chaplain of the Santa Barbara County Jail, serving as pastor to hundreds of inmates. He is co-host of our Wednesday Connection group, and occasionally fills the pulpit when Pastor Craig and Pastor Drew are not available.

Along with our pastors, our Elders guide the spiritual life of our church. We look to them to keep us focused on the Word and on Jesus. These are men who have demonstrated godly wisdom, compassion, and a life’s devotion to the cause of our Lord.

Bill

Bill is also co-host of our Wednesday Connection group. He has a big heart for children, having been active for years as counsellor for the local Royal Family Kids Camp and heads up our children’s ministry (Acorns) along with his wife, Priscilla.

OUR COUNCIL

Vice Chair
Gayle

Gayle has a heart for youth, and volunteers in our Roots ministry to junior and senior high students. She is a drummer and bass player on our worship team, as well as a singer in our music ministry. She is also one of our longtime hand bell ringers and sound technicians.

Oaks Church Council includes our Pastors and Elders who are invited to monthly council meetings to guide our church. They along with the council focus on Know, Grow, and Go objectives by working together to guide our church, ministries, and our congregation through biblical teaching with an emphasis on fellowship, love and Jesus Christ’s Lordship.

Secretary
Priscilla

Priscilla and her husband Bill are the leaders of our Acorns ministry to our 1-5 graders by providing special events outside of our Sunday services. They also are both volunteers who minister in our County Jail to the inmates.

Treasurer
Louise

Louise has been our treasurer since our beginning as a church. She heads up our finance committee and is an active leader in our women’s ministry. She also sings on our worship team, rings in our hand bell choir, and is a regular in ministering to our youngest children during our worship services.

Jim

Jim has a special gift of evangelism ‘one on one.’ He also writes a weekly column for a local online paper called Fourth Quarter Strategies which focuses on those in the ‘fourth quarter’ of their life, finishing strong with God. He is active in a number of local Christian organizations.

Jason

Jason helps lead the Body Life portion of our worship service where we pray for one another. He has a heart for encouraging our people to grow, whether it be in the reading of God’s Word or the supporting of our missionaries or being more welcoming as a church.
